Something that always confuses me, particularly within this medium of WordPress, is the lack of comments or general feedback. Likes are more common and most appreciated. This silence holds true as well for book reviews and in that case, there is a direct correlation between the number of reviews and book sales.
On one level, I suspect that there’s the fear of being evaluated for grammar, spelling and punctuation. Beyond that, I think that people don’t want to take the time or make the effort. Somewhere in between is the zone that I call, “I have something to say to this writer but I don’t know if she’ll read it, if she cares or if it sounds stupid.”
Please keep in mind that writers create for many reasons, only one of which is personal satisfaction and self-expression. While I would not want to speak for all writers, I believe that it’s safe to say that many of us want to know your reactions to what we do. In my case, I’m not evaluating your language skills but I am eager to hear what you think.
Did I make you smile? Did I give you something to consider? Could I have provided an insight that is new or inspirational? We want to hear from you in all cases. We want to inspire, touch or motivate you. Most importantly, we want you to feel that we improved you or your day in some small way. Thank you for your responses. Shalom.
