Common sense and the uncommon

Saw something yesterday on one of the most famous social media sites that listed twenty-five things that were wrong with baby boomers. (Shouldn’t it be Baby Boomers?) The examples were pretty strange and misguided. They included such habits as golf, retaining consultants for financial information and wearing pants (in lieu of leggings or jeans).

What occurs to me is that most of these were entirely devoid of common sense. Should we ban Baby Boomers from golf courses because a group of divinely-appointed millennial authorities find it uncool? Another habit that was deemed uncool was the wearing of those ever-popular, low-cost rubber shoes that provide some significant comfort to a variety of people. My conclusion was that those who can identify what’s cool and uncool also have responsibility for comfort or affordability.

Let’s change direction and make common sense common once again. Shalom.
