Who says what’s good and what’s not?

Those of us who have a client base are often eternally waiting for feedback from those clients. Maybe this is a mistake. When we leave the dentist’s office, we rarely say, “Great root canal!” Likewise, our doctor appointments are never summarized by, “Thanks, Doctor! That was the best exam I’ve ever had!”

In other words, submitting good work is its own reward. It’s unrealistic to believe that all of our clients will embrace all of our writing, just as we don’t all love a particular meal or travel destination. Doing the best possible job on a writing assignment (or a specifically creative effort) is ultimately sufficient reward. Shalom
